For week 9 at The Documented Life Project, the prompt was Give Me a High Five. We are still working on layers, so our goal was to add at least five layers.
A friend had given me the coffee themed napkin this week to use in a journal, so I knew I wanted something in brown, gold, black, white, orange and a touch of red. She also loves steampunk, so that was the direction I took.
I started with Liquitex Basics in Bronze, Yellow Oxide, and unbleaced Titanium. With some gesso added, I used a credit card to scrape across the page. On went the napkin and the word LOVE, and a steampunk stencil sprayed with Adirondac Color Wash in Expresso. Then I added a bit of Sunset Orange spray, a few dabs of Distress Paint in Antique Linen and some Bella Gold Rush acrylic paint. I got a new Sizzix die cut for the coffee cup that I used a corrugated paper and went along the edge with Aquarella pencil and water, added washie tape, and splats with the Prima stamp set in white and red. I added a black swirl stamp too. I finished with some journaling and highlighting.
