Poe Appreciation Day Three

Today I have used one of my Stampers Anonymous to use the ravens from a Tim Holtz set for the Poe Appreciation Day blog hop over at Leigh SB Designs.

I have three different blogs going, so if you want to see yesterday's, I did a card. You can find it on my cardmaking blog. TangleStreetColorway. Today, my Poe work was done in a small journal so it gets to be on my journaling blog.
I used a print out of the poem by Edgar Allan Poe, covered it with watercolor brushes from Jane Davenport, did some splatters and random text stamping. Then, edged with Distress Inks in black. The flower is a paper flower from a spray that I cut apart, and I distressed the quote.

Thanks so much for your visit.
I love reading your comments.

Poe Appreciation Day January 20, 2019

A friend suggested I join in on the Poe Appreciation Day blog hop over at Leigh SB Designs. I thought I'd take a look and was just smitten with this image, The Winter Raven.
Copics Used
So, here she is colored with Copics in my journal. The background was done with Distress Oxides. I added a bit of Stabilo black pencil along the left.

Thanks for visiting. I do enjoy reading your comments.

Razzle my Dazzle with Oddball Art and a bit of Pixie Dust

Another challenge over at Oddball Art. The theme is Razzle my Dazzle! I used the Whimsical Big Eye Fairy Nixie the Pixie #217.

First I printed this off and colored with watercolors. Then, I added some colored pencils and silver gel pen. I added more sparkle with a glitter pen. After ripping the edges, I pasted it into my journal. I did color and cut/paste a couple of extra images just for fun! The finished page is about 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 ".

Thanks for your visit. I love reading your comments.

Happy Halloween

The theme for October over at the Oddball Art Challenge is Happy Horrors. Perfect for this time of year! The sweet girl, fussy cut after coloring with Prismacolor colored pencils, came from Oddball Art. (Big Eye Girl Eve Has Something To Say) The rest of the images came from a set by Hampton Art. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions, Tomb Sweet Tomb. (Out of stock.)
I did a journal page in my Paper Blanks book with lots of Distress Oxide inks, some splatters, stamping, and gel pen. The dark shadows were created with a Stabillo pencil. I popped the sentiment up for some dimension and added a few heart embellishments.

Thanks for looking! I really enjoy any comments you have the time to leave. If you are interested in my cardmaking, click here.

Happy Horrors

The theme for October over at the Oddball Art Challenge is Happy Horrors. Perfect for this time of year! All of the images came from Oddball Art.
I love using the PNG images as it is easy to combine several images to create a pleasing layout. I lightened the background image and set the others on top in the right sizes. Then I created a sentiment and added it to the word bubble. I colored with Copics and edged with Distress Inks. Then, I distressed the edges and added just a bit of clear gel pen to the eyes and blood.

Open if you Dare!

I am so happy to have completed another journal page. Oddball Art is really responsible for that. I normally created "pretty" things for cards, but these images really lend themselves to larger spreads.
Both of these images, Bride of Chucky & Bride of Franky, are free if you sign up for the creepy cute chronicles. Just go HERE to join and subscribe. The wall and sentiments are from other sets. Everything was colored with Copic markers.

I colored everything on Copic friendly paper and then glued to 61/2 x 81/2 journal. The coffin was created separately to make for an interactive page.

Thanks for looking! I really enjoy any comments you have the time to leave.

Happy Hauntings

It's been forever since I've completed a journal spread. I certainly have started many, but this was a two day marathon. I got the idea that I wanted to do an image transfer and some printing on tracing paper. With my Oddball Art Co, by Lizzy Love images, I was able to do just that.

This is how the transfer started:
In progress
After removing paper.

Here are close-ups of the two pages:

The mummy was colored with Copic Gray markers and fussy cut to glue to the page. The trees, also from Oddball Art, were printed on to tracing paper. That worked better that I could have imagined. The background color was from Distress Oxide Inks, the images were watercolored after dry with regular Distress Inks. I used a few stamps from Hampton Arts as accent pieces.

A bit of a better explanation:
I looked up several of them, got confused, and did them all at the same time, LOL! I did the full colored background first, resized/flipped and ran the image with my laser printer. I added some gel medium to the page and set the image on top, and smoothed the best I could. Then, after it dried, I added some gel medium over the top, then added another layer when that was dry. I waited overnight to be sure it was totally dry to add water on top. It didn't budge and I was feeling that I had ruined it. However, adding water many times and letting it soak, I found that if I used my fingernail, I could get it started. It is just a bit time consuming, LOL!

I've seldom had anyone visit my journal page, so if you have, please leave me a little note so I will know if I should "re-awaken" this blog. My main blog is TangleStreetColorway where I mainly do coloring for cardmaking. Feel free to pop over there as well.
